Man United fans will definitely agree with Jurgen Klopp’s opinion of drawing City

Yep. They'll definitely love this!

Yep. He’s got this bang on.

Manchester United fans would be forgiven for giving the Champions League quarter-final draw a hard swerve on Friday lunchtime. Following their dismal elimination at the hands of a not-all-that-fearsome Sevilla, they were the butt of all sorts of very predictable jokes at not being involved in the draw.

But the way things played out at UEFA’s headquarters in Nyon couldn’t have been more fortuitous for the Old Trafford faithful. Remaining Premier League sides (and sworn enemies of United fans) were drawn against each other in the last eight, and that was music to Red Devil ears.

Speaking ahead of Liverpool’s evening fixture with Watford on Saturday, Jurgen Klopp was fully aware of how the red half of Manchester would be reacting to the draw he’d been dreading. After acknowledging that it was a bit crap for City too…

…the German admitted that the real winners were United supporters, stating: “I think it’s an absolute dream draw for all Man United fans.” You’re certainly not wrong, Jurgen mate.

Meanwhile, he was understandably fed up at the Premier League for the fact that they won’t be rearranging fixtures to accommodate his European adventure. It’s going to be a tough few weeks for the Merseyside club.
