Luke Shaw’s time at Old Trafford appears to be coming to an end.
The full-back was substituted at half-time of Manchester United’s 2-0 FA Cup victory over Brighton on Saturday night and criticised by his manager following the game. It wasn’t the first time Shaw has received this treatment from Jose Mourinho, but it could be the last time.
According to reports on Sunday, Shaw is likely to leave United in the summer, and his manager definitely won’t stand in his way. Mourinho frequently criticised him last season, questioning his fitness and basic understanding of football.
The 22-year-old reportedly felt “upset” and “furious” after Mourinho’s latest attempt to humiliate him and it sounds as though some of his teammates were equally perplexed by their manager’s actions.

According to The Telegraph, some of Shaw’s teammates were “left stunned and angry” over Mourinho’s treatment of the player on Saturday. The report claims that “some United stars even believe Shaw is being ‘bullied’ by his manager” and his substitution against Brighton left many United players “dumbfounded.”
Other than Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic, the two goal scorers on the night, every United player was criticised by their manager following the FA Cup quarter-final tie. Mourinho accused them of “a lack of personality, lack of class and lack of desire.”

Mourinho tried this aggressive approach with his players at Real Madrid and Chelsea, and everyone knows how that turned out.
Shaw’s contract with United expires in 2019, but he’s unlikely to still be at Old Trafford by then. If Mourinho continues to accuse his players of lacking “class”, he probably won’t be either.
