He left the arena on a stretcher
Lucas Browne was brutally knocked out in the sixth round of Saturday night’s clash with Dillian Whyte and carried off on a stretcher by paramedics after his face was left streaming with blood from a barrage of heavy blows.Â
Panic ensued when Browne lay unresponsive on the ground after the fight had finished.
It has since been reported that the 38-year-old is ok, having not sustained any serious damage beyond cuts and bruises. The former WBA World champion has boarded a plane to Sydney and is “feeling good”, according to Ben Damon.
Lucas Browne has been stitched up, tested and cleared to fly. He’s just boarded a flight to Sydney and says he’s feeling good. He’ll sleep well. Tough man!! #WhyteBrowne #boxing pic.twitter.com/FOPZovhg1e

Browne also posted a message from his own Twitter feed, thanks his supporters for their love and support, reassuring them that he is “all good”, and “will be back.”
Hi everyone. Thanks very much for the love and support. It wasn’t my night and massive respect to @DillianWhyte for his performance. My eye was giving me trouble from the second and you can’t protect from what you can’t see. I’m all good and I will be back.

As for Whyte, he identified WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder as a potential opponent this summer.
“Hopefully Lucas Browne’s OK. He showed up and he tried but I knew this was going to happen,” Whyte said in his post-fight interview.
“Hopefully he’s well but, listen, Deontay Wilder where you at?”
