You can’t beat a knee slide, can you?
Guess when the last time Alexis Sánchez scored for Manchester United was? Go on. Ages ago, isn’t it? Saturday 3rd February, when United beat Huddersfield, was the last time Sánchez scored for the Red Devils. So you can understand why he was so thrilled to have ended his drought against Swansea this afternoon.
After Romelu Lukaku put United 1-0 up, Alexis doubled the hosts’ lead with a tidy finish into the bottom left corner of the goal.
A deflected pass from Jesse Lingard diverted the ball into Sánchez’s path, and he unleashed a shot.
An emphatic finish sent Sánchez on his way to a passionate celebration.
The mixture of joy and relief is visible on the Chilean’s face.
Knee slides are great, aren’t they? Extra passion points for a well executed knee slide.
And this goal all but guarantees United leapfrog their rivals Liverpool back into second place.
The goal is secondary to the celebration though, which United fans are lapping up.
That Alexis Sanchez Celebration means a Lot To Him !!! #MUFC

Swansea remain on 31 points and should be alright, as Southampton and Stoke drift further away from the pack. One result can shake everything up at the bottom of the table though – you can never assume you’re safe.
But from the looks of things, it seems as though Carlos Carvalhal will keep Swansea up for one more year at least.
