Screamers that Alan Partridge would be proud of.
So yeah, it’s April Fool’s Day. You may have noticed.
A real fun day to be holding down a news shift, too, what with all the zany attempts to catch people out all across the Internet.
Recent years have seen brands get on board with wildly inventive ways in which to pull the wool over people’s eyes in the name of good, old-fashioned japery.
Declaring 99% of said attempts to be a complete waste of time is the kind of massive sweeping generalisation that this writer definitely would never make. Not ever.
As for the 1% that results in a genuine wry smile and a tip of the hat, step forward the Manchester United social media team who have taken to Twitter to unleash the definitive compilation of the very best goals in club history.
Giggs. Cantona. Cole. Nani. Brown. Bailly.
All of these warriors scuff and mis-hit and deflect and scramble and benefit from disastrous own goals as they take their place in United folklore forevermore.
Scored to suitably rousing music that bolsters the spirits even on the most tired of Sundays, the below video captures all of the ramshackle action rather perfectly.
Enjoy…
