AS Roma has paid tribute to injured Liverpool fan Sean Cox ahead of their Champions League semi-final second leg on Wednesday by wearing training shirts with the phrase “Forza Sean” emblazoned on them.
Mr. Cox has been in intensive care in the Walton Neurological Centre in Liverpool since being attacked by two Roma fans last Tuesday, prior to the semi-final first leg between Liverpool and Roma.
The Anfield club have already paid tribute to the Dunboyne, Meath native by hanging a jersey of his hometown GAA club in their dressing room before Sunday’s match with Stoke, after which Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson thanked Dunboyne GAA for sending the jersey on.

Now the Italian club’s players have sent their own message of support, in the form of training shirt which the squad wore in their final training session before Wednesday night’s game.
In a statement on their official website, the club have said:
The message was a show of support from the Giallorossi players towards Liverpool supporter Sean Cox, who remains in a critical condition in hospital after being attacked outside Anfield stadium last week, and the 53-year-old’s family and friends.
While it was revealed yesterday that doctors were hoping to revive Mr. Cox from an induced coma, there is yet to be an update on his condition.
