What a hit, son
Napoli could only manage a 2-2 home draw against Torino this afternoon, all but handing Juventus their seventh consecutive scudetto. This cloud of disappointment confirmed the inevitable, but there was a silver lining. Club captain Marek Hamšík scored a stunning goal to give the hosts the lead in the second half, taking him to 100 league goals in the sky blue of Napoli.
Hamšík has 22 more league goals for the Italian side than Édinson Cavani managed, and 19 more than Diego Maradona.
That is a sweet, sweet strike from Marek Hamsik 👌

It’s not the end to the season Napoli wanted, as Juventus are now six points ahead of them with just two matches remaining, meaning the only thing preventing a capital C sitting next to their name at the top of the table is the unlikely scenario of to Juve losses, two Napoli wins and a 16 goal difference being made up.
But it’s a fitting reward for everything Hamšík has given to the club; sticking with them during the harder times, when the likes of Cavani and Ezequiel Lavezzi left for more lucrative contracts at Paris Saint-Germain.
Hamšík is a club legend and it’s incredibly impressive that he is their all time top goalscorer. As a midfielder, no less. Don’t be surprised to see murals of the mohawked magician painted around the city in the coming months.
