The original version of the show was VERY different
It is fair to say that Will Smith’s career of late hasn’t exactly been filled with highlights.
Bright, Seven Pounds, Men In Black 3, After Earth, A New York Winter’s Tale, Concussion, Focus, Collateral Beauty and Suicide Squad.
Even if he is actually quite good in all of them, he’s usually cocooned in a bad film from the get go.
It seems so long ago that he was the King Of Hollywood, giving even Tom Cruise and Harrison Ford a run for their money with a string of hits that included Bad Boys, Independence Day and Men In Black.
And it is fair to say that it all kicked off thanks to Smith landing the leading role in what would go on to become of the most-loved sitcoms of the last few decades, The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air.
Earlier this week we reported that Bad Boys 3 is now officially a go, and with the upcoming, very interesting sounding Gemini Man in the works, Smith took some time out to tell the story of how he landed the show that sent his career into the stratosphere.
It gives us yet another look at just how incredibly charismatic Smith actually is, as well as a unique look behind the scenes of Hollywood back in the day, as the story winds its way around everyone from Quincy Jones, Arsenio Hall, an ex-girlfriend and A LOT of alcohol.
