Liverpool’s transfer hopes are rocked by Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois plans

That came out of nowhere

Thibaut Courtois’ days at Chelsea could be numbered.

It’s been well-documented that Thibaut Courtois has been stalling over putting pen to paper on a new deal at Chelsea. The big Belgian’s contract is set to expire next summer which has left the club with a dilemma. They can either try their best to get him to sign again or sell him while they still can.

Obviously, a player of Courtois’ stock would command a huge transfer fee. This would leave Chelsea with a great chance to bring in a serious replacement. It just so happens that the one they’re reportedly eyeing up is the same one Liverpool are after.

The Blues are considering making a move for Liverpool target Alisson, according to Sky Sports Italy. The publication is reporting that the club are ‘likely’ to offload Courtois to enter the race for the AS Roma and Brazil goalkeeper.

Between the posts has been a problem position at Anfield for a few seasons. The performance of Loris Karius in the Champions League final shone a bright light on the weakness in the team. Alisson has been top of Liverpool’s shortlist for a while. So the possibility of facing stiff competition from Chelsea isn’t ideal.

Roma have reportedly slapped a £79 million asking price on the keeper, who is expected to start for his country in the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
