England’s World Cup is going from bad to worse after allegations of wrongdoing

England are back in training ahead of their final World Cup match against Uruguay.

While the RFU insist they will not be making any decisions about Stuart Lancaster and his coaching staff, it is clear that change [either of management or thinking] is needed.

Right now, however, England have other problems to deal with, following allegations that a member of the English coaching staff approached one of the match officials during their 33-13 defeat to Australia.

A statement from the game’s governing body reads: ‘World Rugby is investigating an alleged breach by the England coaching team of the match-day communications protocol between match officials and team members or union officials during the Rugby World Cup 2015 Pool A match between England and Australia at Twickenham on 3 October.

‘The protocol prohibits certain conduct on match days, including coaches approaching match officials during a match or at half-time during a match.’
