Will they miss him?
Emre Can has agreed a four year deal with Juventus, subject to a medical, according to Sky Italy.
The midfielder’s contract expires this summer and he has been free to discuss deals with other clubs since January. Juventus have led the race for the Can over the past few months and it seems like they have finally agreed on a deal.
Juventus chief executive Giuseppe Marotta said last month: “I’m confident we will be able to announce Emre Can after the Champions League final.”
Liverpool have preempted losing Emre Can this summer, signing Naby Keita in January, though he spent the second half of the season still at RB Leipzig as part of the deal. The arrival of Brazilian midfielder Fabinho will also soften the blow of losing Can, who has been a key figure in Liverpool’s midfield this season.
Juventus have a strong record of picking up free signings, having brought in the likes of Sami Khedira, Dani Alves and Paul Pogba back in 2012 all on free transfers.
Can joined Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen under Brendan Rodgers, and has been a key member of the squad under Jürgen Klopp due to his dynamism and versatility. Liverpool will probably not miss him though with their new acquisitions.
