Jesse Lingard loves to dance
We all know this about him and, love him or hate him, he’s very very good at it. Sure, he’s very good at football, but dancing is a very close second.
As such, it’s understandable that he combines the two whenever he can. If he scores a goal, he’s absolutely going to use that as an opportunity to bust a move.
Provide an assist? He’s going Milly Rock all over you. Celebrating literally any event on the pitch? DANCE. DANCE. DANCE.
So, when England defeated Colombia on penalties in their round of 16 World Cup match on Tuesday, people would have been a touch surprised to not see Lingard pulling off some spectacular moves on the pitch post-game.
What is happening? They might have asked. Where is Lingard and his dab?
Well, it turns out that he was saving it all for the dressing room and in particular, Trent-Alexander Arnold’s Instagram story.
Standing in England’s changing room alongside his good friend Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Lingard pulled out all the moves, shimmying around in a style of dance many of us are too old to know the name of, but are quite confident we could never do.
He then challenged Loftus-Cheek to do the dance, but he didn’t seem too into it.
We’re not quite sure what to glean from all of this, aside from the fact that Lingard probably has plenty more dances ready as long as England stay in the World Cup.
