Luke Shaw is spending his summer putting any concerns over his physical condition to rest.
Shaw has been linked with a move away from Manchester United in the transfer window, with Juventus’ Alex Sandro believed to be one of Jose Mourinho’s top targets.
But Shaw is not going to be shipped out without a fight and he has made a point of proving his dedication to his fitness in recent weeks.
After a couple of tabloids ridiculed Shaw’s appearance while he partied on a boat at the beginning of the summer, the left-back has committed himself to a training plan that has put him in the best shape of his life.

In April, the Mirror‘s John Cross took a needless dig at Shaw in his match ratings of United’s 2-0 victory over Bournemouth by writing: “Sorry, but he’s got to find himself an XL shirt like the rest of us.”
Shaw has yet to convince Mourinho of his worth and the United boss is not the only one who has previously expressed concerns over the full-back’s physique.
Club legend Paul Scholes compared Shaw to Wayne Rooney after criticising the 22-year-old’s lifestyle.
“It’s difficult to say as we don’t see what goes on behind the scenes, (but) I don’t think he lives his life as clean as he possibly should do,” Scholes told BT Sport.
“With his body shape, he looks like a player who needs to be playing every week. We had Wayne Rooney, who was a player if he missed a couple of games you knew, he wasn’t looking after himself. He needed to be playing all the time, Saturday, Tuesday, whatever it may be. With Luke Shaw, is he going to get a run of 10 games in the team? I’m not sure, the problem he has got is that Ashley Young has been brilliant at left wing back. I hope there is a future for him. A couple of years ago, I thought we were signing the best left back in the world. But if you can get him playing there’s a chance.”
ESPN report that Shaw intends to battle it out for a starting place at Old Trafford and if people consider the below overweight then we, at JOE, can only dream of being this fat.
