The incident is not being treated as terror-related
A man has been arrested by police after a man, believed to be in his 30s or 40s, was stabbed in the Empire Casino in Leicester Square.
An eyewitness reported seeing armed police entering the casino in the heart of London’s West End at around ten to five, followed by the arrival of further armed response vehicles and the ambulance service. A man was then brought from the casino in handcuffs.

The incident is not being treated as terror-related and the weapon used in the incident was recovered at the scene.
The full condition of the injured man awaits medical assessment after he was airlifted to hospital.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Police were called to reports of a stabbing in Leicester Square at 5.50pm on Monday.
“A man believed to be in his 30s or 40s was found with stab injuries at the scene.
“An air ambulance attended the incident and the injured man was rushed to hospital.”
Westminster Police tweeted: “One man arrested after man believed to be in his thirties stabbed in Leicester Square Casino. Weapon has also been recovered.
“This incident is not terror-related. Crime scene remains in place. No other reported injuries. Full condition of injured man awaits hospital assessment.”

Over 50 people have been fatally stabbed in London since the beginning of the year.
