If there is one thing you associate with MNF, it probably isn’t this
Most MNF viewings see Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher offer us all some very good and insightful comments, even if it is often through the prism of their respective rose-tinted glasses.
Neville is a former Manchester United player and as such he adores Manchester United, ditto for Carragher and Liverpool.
As such, it was both interesting and shocking to see the two exchange jerseys on MNF on Monday.
As things transpired on Monday Night Football, Carragher could be seen pulling out a Liverpool jersey, which he threw over to Neville to wear. Neville then threw a Manchester United jersey to Carragher, who stuck it on himself.
How did this happen? Well, the two bet recently over a penalty shootout, with Carragher wagering Neville that – if he missed a penalty – he’d have to wear Xherdan Shaqiri’s number 23 shirt.
Neville did miss that penalty and was given the shirt, the shirt of a player he was rather critical of during the World Cup, and best of all – it was all for charity.
A bet is a bet! 🤝
The moment you've all been waiting for… 👕@GNev2 in a @LFC shirt and @Carra23 in a @ManUtd shirt! 😂
The shirts will be auctioned for their chosen charities! 👏 pic.twitter.com/8mHxPQeNKC
