Mohamed Salah has been a Liverpool supporter for years.

Salah is in his second season at Anfield but he has been a fan of the Reds long before he made his debut for the Merseyside club.

Salah’s first campaign with Liverpool will go down as one of the greatest debut seasons in Premier League history as the forward scored a remarkable 44 goals in his 52 goals across all competitions.

And ahead of Liverpool’s Champions League group opener against Paris Saint-Germain, the Egypt international has revealed that there were four Reds legends who were must-haves when he would play as Liverpool on Fifa.

“It was special to me even though I was very young. When I played Fifa, I always chose Liverpool in 2005,” Salah told France Football.

“I always used to put Steven Gerrard up front because he had a massive shot!

“Then I had Jerzy Dudek in goal and of course Jamie Carragher and Sami Hyypia in defence.

“But I also played with Liverpool before 2005 on my console.”

Salah’s first taste of Premier League football came at Chelsea but he failed to nail down a starting place at Stamford Bridge, making just 19 appearances for the Blues.

However Salah was always determined to return to England’s top flight to prove his worth and after a couple of impressive years in Italy, he was given the opportunity by Jurgen Klopp.

“From January to June 2014, I played ten matches. After that, nothing. I respected the manager’s decision, it was his choice,” Salah added.

“But, from time to time, it became difficult for me to accept, because it was not healthy. I had to leave. I like football, it’s my passion. So, I had to play football.

“I had a good relationship with him [Mourinho], but it was time for me to leave. I went to Fiorentina on loan and was able to play again.

“I dreamed of playing in the Premier League since I was a kid. I was obsessed with the idea of going back to England from the day I left Chelsea.

“I love the Premier League, I love the style of football here. In my head, that was very clear.”
