Antonio Valencia has always been one of Jose Mourinho’s biggest supporters.
A report last week identified Valencia as one of the five players who had taken Mourinho’s side in his well-publicised rift with midfielder Paul Pogba.
But it’s Valencia’s loyalty towards his manager which made it all the more interesting to see him like an Instagram post this week which called for Mourinho’s sacking.
Following Tuesday night’s 0-0 Champions League stalemate against Valencia at Old Trafford, United’s captain liked a post dedicated to him which finished with the words “it’s time for Mourinho to go.”

Supporters spotted that Valencia liked the post but the right-back has been quick to clarify what happened.
Taking to Twitter on Wednesday morning, Valencia claimed that he’d just liked the photograph without reading the caption.
“Yesterday, I liked a post on Instagram without reading the text that accompanied the picture,” Valencia wrote.
“These are not my views and I apologise for this. I am fully supportive of the manager and my teammates.

Mourinho has come in for increased scrutiny in recent weeks, with United enduring their worst start to a season in 29 years.
The Red Devils are now without a win in their last four matches and while Mourinho remains favourite to be the next Premier League manager sacked, he claimed that he was not concerned about losing his job at his press conference on Monday.
