Non-League Day takes place on Saturday
Manchester City did their bit for Non-League Day on Friday afternoon. Sadly, it wasn’t quite enough for Salford City.
The Premier League champions aren’t in action this weekend due to the international break, and so a tweet from their official Twitter account attempted to encourage their supporters to attend one of a number of non-league games taking place in the Manchester area on Saturday instead.

No problems there, you might think… until you notice who they’ve managed to miss off the list.
Salford City – who play Braintree Town in the Conference Premier on Saturday afternoon – did not make City’s pick of the fixtures. This, some have suggested, might have had something to do with the fact the club is owned by several members of Manchester United’s legendary Class of 92.
Having seen City’s tweet, Salford’s social media team were quick to post a response. A reply from them pointed out City’s oversight, also adding their fixture to the bottom of the list they had provided.
Thanks @ManCity 👋

Gary Neville, one of Salford’s co-owners, appeared to see the funny side to his club’s response…

Salford currently top the Conference Premier, with their opponents on Saturday bottom of the league.
