Wojciech Szczęsny kisses Paulo Dybala better after smashing his head with kick out

Wojciech Szczęsny is a very good footballer

Formerly the figure out outright derision at Arsenal, Szczęsny found his confidence during two loan spells at AS Roma before eventually doing what many Gunners fans would have considered impossible years ago: inherited the Juventus number one jersey from Gianluigi Buffon.

During his time in Serie A and particularly at Juve’s Allianz Stadium, Szczęsny has been incredibly solid, to the point that it’s almost hard to believe that he was once one of the most error-prone goalkeepers in European football.

This is all to say that it was very, very funny to see him do something incredibly funny and dumb prior to Juventus’ Champions League group game at home to Manchester United.

The incident (it’s less an incident than just a moment to be honest) in question took place during the warm up before the game, when the Polish goalkeeper was presumably practicing kick outs.

Launching the ball out to the left of the pitch, Szczęsny accidentally hit Argentine striker Paulo Dybala in the back of the head with a very hard kick.

Surprisingly for a professional footballer, Dybala went down like a sack of potatoes dropped from an airplane. He continued to lie on the ground until a member of staff came over, at which he got up and flailed his hand in that way European footballers do like no other.

He seemed pretty angry to be fair, but his goalie clearly didn’t give a single shit, as he came over and kissed him softly on his head. Lovely.
