Ramsey’s contract with Arsenal, where he has spent the past ten years, expires in June, and the midfielder was not able to reach an agreement with the club over an extension.
As a result, he has been allowed to discuss terms with various clubs this January, including Juve, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, about a possible move in the summer.
He has now reportedly agreed a deal with Juventus, and the pre-contract will be signed in the coming days when his agent flies to Italy to meet the Juventus board.
So far for Arsenal, he has scored 61 goals in 354 matches for the Gunners, with his best form coming in the 2013/14 season.
He also overcame a horrendous leg break which he sustained in a league match against Stoke in February 2010. He will be fondly remembered by Arsenal fans, most of whom wish he wasn’t going. When that is the consensus, you wonder why the club are allowing it to happen.
