Classy
Angel Di Maria used to play for Manchester United. Now he plays for Paris Saint Germain. And that was enough for the Argentine hit man to be derided, booed and targeted with projectiles at Old Trafford on Tuesday night.
Football fans are a classy bunch.
Every touch of the PSG winger was met with mockery. So when he assisted the French side’s first goal of the night, a corner smashed in by Kimpembe on the edge of the six yard box after slipping away from Matic, he took the opportunity to return the favour.
Don’t think you’ll need a professional lip reader to decipher what Angel Di MarÃa shouted at the United fans during the goal celebrations 🤬 pic.twitter.com/mYLUk0JxSp

As the PSG players swarmed all over each other, celebrating their French teammates first goal for the club in his 97 games, Di Maria looked into the stands and repeatedly shouted “fuck off” at the Manchester United fans.
My colleague who speaks Spanish says it also looks like the Argentine followed it up with an “hijo de puta” for good measure. Which, literally translated, means ‘son of a whore’ but a better translation would probably be ‘cunt.’
Di Maria assisted PSG’s second too, a delicious team goal guided past David De Gea by Kylian Mbappe with a deft touch. We’re not sure if he swore that time, but, yeah, he probably did then too.
