Manchester United are good again
Their problems haven’t all suddenly disappeared, but this team is unrecognisable from the one that would trudge to scrappy draws under José Mourinho.
United progressed to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup on Monday night, beating a predictably predictable Chelsea 2-0 with very little difficulty. Two first half headers from Ander Herrera and Paul Pogba were enough to send them through to the last eight and the sizeable away crowd thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
The travelling fans are so enamoured with this new look United, they’ve coined a new chant, praising Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s leadership, to the tune of Waterfall by the Stone Roses.
Videos of the away support singing the chant circulated far and wide on social media last night due to its banger factor and the utter joy that pervades the fanbase at the moment.
Its lyrics go as follows:
Ole’s at the wheel
Tell me how good does it feel
We’ve got Sanchez, Paul Pogba and Fred
Marcus Rashford’s a Manc born and bred
Du du du du dudu du du
Greatest of English football
We’ve won it all all
Here is one of the more audible versions doing the rounds.

Pretty good, isn’t it?
The only issue one could take with it would be the generous inclusion of Fred, who has not made any sort of impact since his summer transfer to United from Shakhtar Donetsk.
But then again, it’s very hard to rhyme ‘bred’ with any other players in the squad. Who knows, maybe it will spur him on?
We should expect to hear a lot more of this chant for the rest of the season – and possibly next season – if United are able to continue this rich vein of form.
