Brendan Rodgers looks increasingly likely to succeed Claude Puel at Leicester City, after the Frenchman was sacked following a humbling 4-1 defeat to Crystal Palace at the weekend.
That result proved to be the straw that broke the camel’s back for Puel, who had come under scrutiny over the past few months as fans grew bored of his style of football and underwhelming results.
Rodgers now looks set to take over in the coming days, after his current employers Celtic ‘very reluctantly’ granted the manager permission to speak to Leicester.

The former Liverpool boss has enjoyed huge success at Parkhead, taking Celtic to an invincible treble in his first season in charge. But he’s keen to return to the Premier League, having taken this Celtic team as far as he can.
Celtic are rumoured to be lining up a return for Neil Lennon, who coached Celtic between 2010-14, and has spent the past three years at Hibernian.
