Rodgers was approached by the Premier League club after they sacked Claude Puel
Brendan Rodgers has agreed to become Leicester City’s new manager and has signed a contract until 2022, according to the club. The former Liverpool and Swansea City manager did not sign in time to take over for the game against Brighton on Tuesday night but will watch from the stands at the King Power.
His first game in charge will be Sunday’s fixture against Watford.

Kolo Toure, a former player under Rodgers at both Liverpool and Celtic, will also be a part of his backroom staff at the club.
Celtic granted Rodgers and Leicester permission to discuss terms on Tuesday morning, with the Foxes keen to secure a quick replacement for Claude Puel, who left the club on Sunday after their 4-1 home defeat to Crystal Palace.
The Northern Irishman’s decision to leave the Scottish champions at this stage of the season has garnered criticism from some quarters.

Former Celtic striker and current BT Sport pundit Chris Sutton uploaded a video to social media to vent his anger at the situation, and question why Rodgers would want to leave the club at such a time.
“Quite frankly, it stinks,” he said in the video.
“The timing of it stinks. He’s going to a club who are playing for absolutely nothing. They’re not going to get relegated, not going to get into Europe.
“I am really disappointed and I think there’s a lot of Celtic fans out there as well who will feel let down. This is the job that Brendan said was his ‘dream job’. So why is he going now to a club who have nothing to play for?”
