That was unexpected
Arsenal beat Manchester United 2-0 on Sunday afternoon at the Emirates stadium. Not that you’d know it, as a follower of Piers Morgan on Twitter.
Manchester United’s 12-game unbeaten run in the Premier League came to an end at the hands of the Gunners, who secured a much needed win.
Granit Xhaka opened the scoring with a swerving shot that left David De Gea stranded, having been wrong footed by the movement of the ball. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang then doubled the Gunners’ lead from the penalty spot after a light nudge from Fred sent Alexandre Lacazette to the ground.
As we know, Piers Morgan is an Arsenal fan. As we know, Piers Morgan likes to run his big dirty mouth.
Football. Banter. Here. We. Go.
I thought United were supposed to have improved under Solskjaer?

Must be sweeter things in life than hearing @GNev2 being forced to praise Arsenal for outplaying United, but I can’t right now think of one… 🤣🤣

That reference to Lingard from Ozil?
Back in late January, the last time the teams played each other, United cruised to a 3-1 victory at the Emirates, knocking Arsenal out of the FA Cup. Lingard celebrated his goal with a moonwalk, and tagged the stadium as a ‘dance floor’ in an Instagram post after the game. Savage, I know.
Özil got his revenge on Sunday afternoon though, tweeting: “Dancefloor huh!? Superb performance!  Brilliant result! Thank you Emirates Stadium! Proud to be a Gunner!”
United’s next match is an FA Cup quarter final against Wolves on Saturday. On Thursday Arsenal host Rennes after a 3-1 away thrashing by the Ligue 1 side in the Europa League last week.
