The mini console movement continues at pace

Sega are set to release a Mega Drive Mini and a Sega Genesis Mini later this year, it has been confirmed.

The Japanese company originally announced the release of the device in 2018, only to delay the release due to a larger than expected reaction to the news.

The Mega Drive is the name of the Genesis outside of North America.

It is set to hit shelves on September 19.

It’s understood that the Mega Drive Mini will be priced at £70 base price, or £90 if you purchase the console with two controllers.

The device will include a total of 40 titles, with the first 10 Japanese titles now confirmed. It’s understood that the North American and European titles may vary.

The titles announced so far include Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Puyo Puyo Tsu, Shining Force, Vampire Killer, Wrestleball, Gunstar Heroes, Comix Zone, Rent A Hero, Space Harrier II and Madou Monogatari I.
