West Ham may be tempting fate a little bit sooner than they ought to.
Whoever runs the Hammers’ Twitter account has called out BBC Sport’s Mark Lawrenson for the Premier League prediction he made before a ball was kicked this season.
Former Republic of Ireland international Lawrenson expected West Ham to finish in the last relegation place by the end of the season, so he will be surprised as anyone at the stellar start to the season that Slaven Bilic’s men have enjoyed.
West Ham are currently third in the Premier League, having claimed the scalps of Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal in their first ten games.
While there is more than enough time left for the Hammers to drop down the table, the resident tweeter at Upton Park took Lawrenson to task for his less-than 20/20 foresight.
