Absolute scenes at Elland Road
Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa and Aston Villa assistant John Terry were involved in a row on the touchline during their sides’ match at Elland Road on Sunday.
The two had to be separated by an official after controversial scenes in the match between the play-off contenders, and could be seen shouting at each other on the touchline.

The controversy arose when Villa’s Jonathan Kodjia went down in the middle of the pitch, visibly hurt. Leeds players refused to put the ball out of play as Villa were expecting and went on to open the scoring through Mateusz Klich. That goal immediately sparked a scrap as Conor Hourihane grabbed Klich by the shirt and chaos ensued.

Anwar El Ghazi was then sent off for supposedly striking Patrick Bamford (he didn’t) before Bielsa ordered his players to allow Villa to score themselves out of sportsmanship.
This decision was received furiously by a number of Leeds players, particularly Pontus Jansson, but presumably Bielsa doesn’t want to go into the play-offs with bad karma against him.
The match ended 1-1, meaning that both sides will now go into the play-offs. It also confirmed, mathematically, Sheffield United’s automatic promotion to the Premier League.
