We don’t have a specific date or any more information than that. Netflix usually drops its shows on a Friday.
It has been reported that Season 2 will see FBI agents Holden Ford and Bill Tench meeting the infamous murderer/cult leader, Charles Manson.
After creating a commune in California, Manson’s followers committed a series of nine murders at four locations in July and August 1969. In 1971, he was convicted of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder for the deaths of seven people, all of which members of the group carried out at his instruction.
Elsewhere, Manson devotee Tex Watson and The Son of Sam, David Berkowitz, are expected to also be interviewed by Holden and Bill in the new season.
Berkowitz plead guilty to murdering 8 people with a .44 Caliber gun in New York City during the summer of 1976.
The same report states that Elmer Wayne Henley,William Pierce, Jr, Paul Bateson, Dennis Rader, and The Stocking Strangler, William Henry Hance, will also be featured in the show.
As for the main plot/investigation, Season 2 of Mindhunter will be examining the Atlanta Child Murders; a string of 28 mostly child murders, that shook Atlanta from 1979-1981.
As reported by The Playlist, the director of Se7en, Fight Club and Zodiac, David Fincher, will return behind the lens for some of the episodes. Andrew Dominik (Chopper, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford) and Carl Franklin (House of Cards, Homeland) will also be directing episodes for Season 2.
