Hazard’s exit from Chelsea draws closer

Chelsea have named their asking price for Eden Hazard’s expected move to Real Madrid, with the Premier League club willing to let Hazard leave if Madrid meet their £130 million valuation for the Belgian star.

According to Sky Sports News, Chelsea will allow the former Lille man his dream move to the Santiago Bernabeu if the LaLiga side can plump up the money, which would be the highest fee ever received by the club.

Hazard has long been linked with a move to Madrid, who signed his compatriot Thibaut Courtois from Chelsea during the summer of 2018.

The 28-year-old was one of the stars of an up-and-down season for Chelsea, which saw them struggle for long periods in the middle of the season before finishing third in the league. They also face Arsenal in the Europa League final in Baku, Azerbaijan on Wednesday.

Hazard supplied 15 assists in the Premier League during the 2018/19 season – earning him the Playermaker of the Season award.

Madrid, who are now being coached by former manager Zinedine Zidane after a season of turmoil which saw the Frenchman return after the unsuccessful spells of Julen Lopetegui and Santiago Solari, are expected to embark on an overhaul of their squad during the summer.

The club are actively trying to sell former record transfer Gareth Bale, who has fallen out of favour with both the team and fans, are also said to be interested in Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.
