Celtic have won an unprecedented nine trophies in a row in Scotland
Celtic beat Hearts 2-1 at Hampden Park today thanks to two goals from Odsonne Edouard to secure an unprecedented ninth trophy in a row in Scotland – a treble Treble.
As you’d expect, the likes of Neil Lennon, Scott Brown and Mikael Lustig were all ecstatic at the final whistle knowing they had made history with the Bhoys once again.
The thing is though… that wasn’t even the highlight of the day. The highlight came right from kick-off, as Hearts decided to turn into a rugby union side for the opening passage of play and punt for touch deep into Celtic territory.
Perhaps they were hoping to steal the resultant lineout and bundle over the Hoops try line from a couple of metres out for five points. Perhaps they just simply did not want the football. Or to play football. Or to even be there, on the same large rectangle of grass as Scott Brown.
Either way, it was a fantastic bit of play and one that surely reassured any fan watching that the magic of the game has not been lost.
Truly, is this not what all we want to see from two football teams? Them just fucking lumping it into the far corners of the pitch every time they get the ball? For no discernible advantage to them at all?
Take a look and decide for yourself.
