“Mauricio, is it true you’ve lost weight?”
We might be on the cusp of an all-English Champions League final between Tottenham and Liverpool, but that didn’t stop one journalist asking a fatuous question in a pre-match press conference with Mauricio Pochettino.
The 47-year-old manager will field his first CL final side tonight but had to field questions regarding his waistline in the run-up to the encounter, leading to a hilarious response from the Argentinian.
In a video posted to social media, a reporter, pretty coyly, asks: “Mauricio, is it true you’ve lost weight?”
To which the Tottenham first responded by standing up and posing for the press pack, before adding: “I am the same. I am the same.”

In all fairness, the question at least meant a break from fielding questions around whether Harry Kane will be fit to play in the match. Their talisman striker has declared himself able to play, despite having been out for two months with a ligament injury.
If Kane is picked, then it could mean Lucas Moura being benched despite netting a hat-trick to put Spurs through against Ajax.
Meanwhile, Pochettino has asked that his players free themselves of any worries ahead of what is arguably the biggest fixture in Tottenham’s history.
“We all have fears. It’s not that you are not going to fear anything,” he said.
“You are still going to have fears, but you’re going to be free to work [through them].
“People without fears don’t exist. The difference is people who tackle their fears, who cope with them, and who achieve.
