The Gypsy King was on top form
Tyson Fury proved why he’s the lineal heavyweight champion with a decisive TKO second round win against Tom Schwarz in Las Vegas on Saturday Night.
Controlling the fight with his jab from the off, the Gypsy King rarely looked troubled by the previously undefeated German boxer, after entering the ring in homage to fictional Rocky boxer Apollo Creed.
While the flurry of punches – delivered after Fury switched to a southpaw stance – that ended the bout, topped the highlights reel after the fight was over, on social media users were quick to draw attention to the Manchester-born boxer’s equally impressive defence.
With characteristic agility and evasiveness in the ring, Schwarz barely laid a glove on Fury throughout the fight and a short clip showing the 30-year-old boxer dodging a series of punches in a matter of seconds has gone viral after it was uploaded to Twitter, with one user comparing it to something out of “The Matrix”.
Other compared the moment to three-time heavyweight champion ‘The Greatest’ Muhammed Ali.
UFC champion Max Holloway tweeted: “[Tyson Fury] floating like a butterfly and stinging like a bee. Just beautiful.”
NFL player Tre Watson said: “My man Fury has been studying those old Ali tapes I see”.
