It’s been a tournament like no other
The Lionesses were eliminated from the 2019 Women’s World Cup at the hands of the mighty United States on Tuesday evening, but they can hold their heads high.
It’s not just the performances of the England national team that have garnered praise this summer, but also the work carried out in increasing awareness and visibility of women’s football around the country.
Televised matches across the board, easy access to matches, and increased pressed coverage has meant that the legacy of this tournament will live on for years to come.
With England now out of the tournament, JOE spoke to supporters about the impact that this tournament will hopefully have on future generations of fans and footballers.
"This is everything we should have had since we were kids."
