Salford City were massive underdogs coming into the FA Cup First Round clash with Notts County.
Lowly Salford were 59 spots below League Two County in the football pyramid, but they played an absolute blinder to clinch a historic 2-0 victory.
It was former Manchester United man Danny Webber who scored first for the club that is now part owned by Old Trafford’s ‘Class of 92’ legends.
But then substitute Richie Allen put the tie beyond doubt with a brilliant piece of solo skill to beat three men at once, a deft one-two and a class finish that really belied Salford’s humble semi-pro status.
It’s no wonder Gary Neville, Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt were going mental on the sidelines…
