The sentence was handed down on Tuesday evening
Harry Maguire has been handed a 21-month and 10-day suspended sentence by a Greek court, after being found guilty of aggravated assault, resisting arrest and repeated attempts of bribery towards police officers on the Greek island of Mykonos.
The sentence has been suspended because it was a first offence and the charges were misdemeanours.
The Manchester United captain was found guilty of all charges alongside Christopher Sharman and his brother Joe Maguire after a trial which began this week.
Maguire was arrested on Mykonos on Thursday night after getting involved in a fight with other tourists and, when the police attempted to intervene, officers.
The court case saw counter narratives from Maguire’s legal team and the prosecution, with conflicting allegations.

Maguire’s legal team claimed that the officers who arrested him began kicking his legs violently upon arrival at the police station, before shouting that his career would be “over”.
They also claim that the entire incident was the result of two Albanian men drugging his sister, leading her to faint immediately.
This was countered by the prosecution, who claimed that Maguire had attempted to flee the scene and verbally and physically abused officers, before attempting to bribe them.
“Do you know who I am? I am the captain of Manchester United, I am very rich, I can give you money, I can pay you, please let us go,” Maguire is alleged to have said.
Despite the England international’s denial of all charges, the court found against him and the two other defendants.
