He fouled three players with one tackle
Brighton rescued a point against arch rivals Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon thanks to a late equaliser from substitue Alexis MacAllister. Palace had taken an early lead with a Wilfried Zaha penalty, but the Eagles could not hold on for all three points as Brighton piled on the pressure late on and eventually made a breakthrough with the help of a deflection off Gary Cahill.
But there was more drama to come in the not M23 derby. As the ball dropped loose at a corner, Brighton captain Lewis Dunk was shown a red card after he threw himself towards the ball, studs up at shin height, and appeared to make contact with two, if not three Palace defenders.
Gary Cahill came off the worst, and had to leave the pitch for treatment, but was lucky not to sustain any serious injuries on his return from a spell on the sidelines.
"It's a sending off, you're endangering the opposition."
Graeme Souness says Lewis Dunk can't complain about his late red card but doesn't believe the challenge was 'a cynical one'. 🟥 pic.twitter.com/ba34lU3u4S

Maybe he thought Cahill was offside? Hard to tell.
It was well on brand for a derby that was full of aggressive tackles and almost came to blows on several occasions.
And people say it’s not a real rivalry.
