Nagelsmann’s tactics get more inventive by the day
Ten Paris Saint-Germain players had to be rescued by firefighters from a broken lift ahead of their Champions League tie against RB Leipzig on Wednesday night.
Staying in the GrandHotel Handelshof in Leipzig, the Parisians’ preparation was thrown into chaos as ten players were trapped in an elevator, with left-back Layvin Kurzawa posting video footage of the ordeal to Instagram.
Presnel Kimpembe, Leandro Paredes, Angel Di Maria, Marquinhos, Bandiougou Fadiga, Abdou Diallo, Idrissa Gueye, Moise Kean, Colin Dagba and Kays Ruiz-Atil were the players stuck in the elevator, according to the tagged accounts on Kurzawa’s post.
The Ligue 1 champions are without their first choice attack of Neymar, Kylian Mbappé and Mauro Icardi, all of whom have been sidelined through injury, but a voice inside the lift was heard telling firefighters Neymar and Mbappé were trapped in the lift. Fair play, probably would speed things up a bit.
The clips have since been removed from Kurzawa’s Instagram story, but you can watch it unfold below.

Given the circumstances, everyone involved seemed relatively relaxed, with plenty of laughter heard throughout the video.
PSG might not be so comfortable tonight when they come up against Leipzig though. The German side were shown up by Manchester United last week, losing 5-0. But Julian Nagelsmann’s side will feel more confident going into this home tie against a depleted PSG side who so often flatter to deceive in Europe.
PSG picked up three points last week against Istanbul BaÅŸakÅŸehir, the weakest team in the group, but will face a much greater challenge this week without their three biggest goal threats.
Moise Kean, Angel Di Maria and Pablo Sarabia will likely start in attack and will have their work cut out against one of the most exciting teams in Germany.
