Salah may now be missing for Liverpool’s next two games
Liverpool’s Mo Salah has tested positive for Covid-19, the Egyptian football association has announced.
Salah had joined his national squad ahead of their African Cup of Nations qualifier agains Togo, but will now isolate, with further tests due in the coming hours. The striker is not believed to be showing any symptoms of the virus.
The 28-year-old may now be absent for his club’s home games with Leicester, on November 21, and Atalanta, four days later.
Earlier in the week, Salah was filmed dancing as he attended his brother’s wedding. Pictures and footage from the wedding show the former Roma forward with his mask not covering his face.
Mo Salah tests positive for Covid after doing this at a wedding. Seriously, we need to stop players leaving their club bubbles amid this pandemic.

His positive Covid test result has raised further questions regarding the timing of the current international break, which many felt should not have taken place with infection rates soaring across Europe and beyond.
Some – Liverpool fans included – have gone as far as suggesting Salah had acted ‘irresponsibly’ by attending the wedding.
Only just seen this Salah wedding footage. It seems incredibly irresponsible given the current moment.
He should probably be disciplined by both the EFA & club. Regardless of whether he caught it there. #LFC pic.twitter.com/8YSzCH1gQ9
