It was like 2003 all over again.
There was a few extra wrinkles and, in Ronaldo’s case, a little more condition on the belly, but himself and Zinedine Zidane showed that they haven’t lost any of their considerable talents in a charity match in Paris.
Taking part in the 12th annual Match Against Poverty in Saint-Etienne, the former Real Madrid duo combined to score a goal of real quality as Zidane set it up with a delightful no-look pass before Ronaldo volleyed to the net.
Zinedine Zidane’s no look pass to Ronaldo last night. Quality. https://t.co/nugdpWfJaz

St. Etienne ran out winners over an All-Star XI that included the talents of Clarence Seedorf, Cafu and Frank de Boer as well as Ronaldo and Zidane.
But the presence of such talent wasn’t enough to stop them conceding nine goals in a 9-7 defeat.
Good job Jose Mourinho wasn’t the manager; he would have been tearing his hair out.
