The rumoured design for Manchester United’s next home jersey might split opinion

A new philosophy towards the famous red shirt

A new philosophy towards the famous red shirt.

It has been an interesting few years for Manchester United fans since Alex Ferguson left in May 2013, doesn’t it feel like much longer than that?

There have been massive changes in the dressing room with United stalwarts like Nemanja Vidic, Patrice Evra and Rio Ferdinand all leaving the club but they’ve been replaced by some new darlings of the Stretford End.

Things also look considerably different on the pitch because under Fergie, United could be characterised as a side who were committed to playing all-out attacking football but things looked different under David Moyes and now Louis Van Gaal.

Adidas are also a new addition to the set-up at Old Trafford after they negotiated a £750m sponsorship deal over a 10-year period.

Footy Headlines have released an image of what they think United’s next home kit could look like and it’s certainly different because they reckon United are willing to combine two shades of red in a half-and-half design.

I’d suggest that it’s best to take these designs with a large pinch of salt, the internet is littered with fake designs and I’ve seen better efforts than this, but if it’s true then this would certainly split opinion.

What do you think?
