Fans stormed through the gates and onto the pitch at the stadium, which led to the match being postponed, with a new date for the fixture yet to be announced.
While is was mostly peaceful, there were clashes between fans and police, with one police officer suffering a “significant slash wound to his face, requiring emergency hospital treatment.”
On the day, Greater Manchester Media were live streaming from outside the Lowry, and caught footage of police officers arresting a man and appearing to beat him up.
