It’s as tensions grow between the Spanish giants and La Liga bosses.
Real Madrid are reportedly considering the possibility of leaving La Liga and joining the Premier League, with club president Florentino Perez keen on a switch.
Perez and Los Blancos are at the middle of a row with the bosses of the Spanish top-flight over plans to sell a 10% share of the league to equity firm CVC Capital Partners.
Real Madrid big-wigs are also still angry with La Liga president Javier Tebas for his role in the doomed European Super League proposals, after he publicly voiced his opposition to the plans earlier this year.
Whilst the plans to sell to CVC would provide a much-needed cash boost for many of the clubs in La Liga, Real Madrid and their El Clasico rivals Barcelona have both strongly rejected the proposals.
Real Madrid have already said that they will be taking legal action against Tebas and CVC in order to stop the deal. The 13-time European champions said that they “cannot support a venture which hands the future of 42 Primera and Segunda División clubs over to a group of investors, not to mention the futures of those clubs who qualify over the next 50 year.”
Now, Mundo Deportivo reports that Perez is looking at the possibility of leaving La Liga and joining another European top-flight.

According to the publication, bosses at Real have been studying the option for weeks, and see the Premier League as the club’s preferred destination.
The disputes over the CVC deal and the Super League plans have only added to Perez’s annoyance with Tebas, with the Real Madrid president having felt mistreated by him due to a number of incidents over the years.
Real Madrid have apparently looked at both Serie A and the Bundesliga as potential destinations, but (surprise surprise) feel that the Premier League would best suit them.
Mundo Deportivo adds that Brexit is likely to make any negotiations about a non-British club joining the Prem very difficult, but Real Madrid hope an exception can be made for them.
Of course, this all falls at the first hurdle if the Premier League simply say no to the proposal. One can only hope…
