They could probably do with him in midfield
Yaya Touré has offered to help former side Barcelona amid one of the most difficult periods in the club’s history.
The Catalan giants are currently ninth in La Liga, having won just three of their opening seven matches. Ronald Koeman’s men have also made a disappointing start to the Champions League, losing both of their opening two games 3-0.
This has led to speculation that Koeman is under intense pressure to keep his job – despite club president Joan Laporta publicly backing the Dutchman last week.
It is not just on the pitch that the Spanish outfit are struggling, either. Reports have claimed that Barcelona are in major financial trouble that includes more than £1billion of debt.
Despite this, the ex-Manchester City figure, who played for Barca between 2007-2010, is confident that his former club will come through the tough period that they are currently enduring.
Following Barcelona’s disappointing 2-0 loss against Atletico Madrid on Saturday (October 2), the former midfielder took to Twitter to offer his help with a number of emotional tweets.

“My time at Barcelona was one of the best memories of my playing career,” Touré said.
“The club has decided to trust me when I was still a young player, yet to establish myself in the top leagues. I will forever be grateful to the club for what they have done for me.
“It may be a difficult time for the club but my belief for Barcelona is strong. I will always be available for the club should they need me anytime as my heart is forever with the club, the people and the fans.”
The 38-year-old – who won the Champions League with Barca under Pep Guardiola in 2010 – retired in 2020 after finishing his playing career in China
The Ivorian is currently doing his UEFA coaching badges and is the assistant coach of Russian club Akhmat Grozny.
