Haye’s last professional win came in 2016
David Haye has insisted that he still wants to fight Tyson Fury even after the Gypsy King was victorious against Deontay Wilder in their trilogy bout.
Fury and Wilder provided boxing fans with one of the most entertaining fights in recent years, with the bout going 11 rounds before the Brit ended things with a deadly right hand.
Before securing the victory, Fury was knocked down twice by Wilder. However, the two-time world heavyweight champion was able to get back to his feet on both occasions and provide a conclusion to what has been a thrilling rivalry.
Haye – who predicted that the American would beat Fury on Saturday night – has reiterated his desire to fight Fury, despite losing his last professional fight in 2018.
“I’m 100 per cent serious. I’ve said that the only person I’d put my body through a come back for would be for the number one heavyweight on the planet,” Haye told IFL TV.
“There’s no reason why I’d punish myself and do what I need to do to put myself in a position to give myself any time of chance if it isn’t for the big one. It doesn’t get any bigger than that. I’d be like a 1000/1 underdog, for good reason.

“Hopefully when team Fury crunch the numbers… something’s going to happen in the next two months when they’re going to be looking for an opponent. I know how big time boxing works.
“When he works out what money is generated with a Hayemaker fight vs any of the other options, although on paper they may be more respectable… he knows it’s out there.”
Despite Haye’s belief that Fury would consider a fight against him, the WBC heavyweight champion has been ordered to fight the winner of Dillian Whyte and Otto Wallin by the WBC.
However, should the Gypsy King set up an undisputed heavyweight world title fight against Oleksandr Usyk, the WBC would also him to keep the belt.
Yet, the prospect of this is unlikely in the near future as Eddie Hearn recently confirmed that Anthony Joshua had exercised his right for a rematch against the Ukrainian after suffering defeat last month.
