“In the moment I think it’s clear there’s nobody better than him”
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has claimed that Mohamed Salah is currently the best player in the world.
The Egyptian has made a spectacular start to the season, scoring 10 goals and grabbing four assists in all competitions, including a breathtaking strike against Manchester City prior to the international break.
Salah continued his impressive form and played a significant role in the Reds’ 5-0 domination of Watford on Saturday (16 October) – where the 29-year-old added another special goal to his already strong collection.
The former Roma man also provided an assist for Sadio Mane, as well as setting up Roberto Firmino – who grabbed a hat-trick.
After the game, manager Klopp was asked where Salah ranks amongst the best players in the world.
Klopp was quick to state that he deserves the top spot on current form – despite the consistent performances of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
"Come on, who is better than Mo Salah at the moment?"
Jürgen Klopp was full of praise for the way Liverpool went about their gameplan against Watford – whilst also claiming Mo Salah is the best player in the world right now! 👏

Asked where Salah ranks in his post-match BT Sport interview, Klopp replied: “Top. Come on, we all see it, who’s better than him in this moment?
“That’s clear, there’s always this discussion and all these kinds of things.
“But we don’t have to talk about what Ronaldo and Messi did for world football or how long they were really in the dominant.
“In the moment I think it’s clear there’s nobody better than him. How it is, it’s not only since yesterday, he’s been in that shape for a while.
“He’s young enough to keep the shape a little bit longer.”
The German also praised Salah’s ability to be creative once he makes his way into the box, suggesting that he has the freedom to do so once he gets into good positions.
“The performance was massive, absolutely outstanding, the whole team’s performance but his [Salah], the first goal super pass, then his goal was absolutely exceptional,” said Klopp.
“Obviously now, he’s in the mood to try it in the box, he tried before a couple of times strikers can do that, that’s when they have the protection – most players behind you – he did it, he scored the goal.”
Liverpool’s next match sees them travel to the Wanda Metropolitano to face Atletico Madrid – the team that beat them twice during the 19/20 campaign – in the Champions League.
