Canos’ goal had put Brentford 2-1 up at Elland Road
Brentford’s Sergi Canos was struck by an object as he celebrated putting Brentford 2-1 up away to Leeds United at Elland Road on Sunday.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side had gone 1-0 up shortly before the half-hour mark as Tyler Roberts scored on his 100th appearance for the club.
Thomas Frank’s side equalised nine minutes after the restart as Shannon Baptiste brought the away side back level before Sergi Canos then completed the turnaround in the 61st minute.
As the Spaniard went to celebrate with his teammates in front of the home fans, many acted angrily to the celebrations, however one fan sadly took it too far.
During the celebrations, Canos can be seen going down to the ground, whilst fellow Brentford player Bryan Mbuemo can be seen holding his head as both appeared to have been struck by an object which looks to be a bottle.

Several of the Brentford players then turned to the supporters in the stand behind them to question them, whilst Christian Norgaard of Brentford ran towards referee David Coote who began to move the players away from the scene.
The Bees looked like they would hold onto the win, however a late stoppage time equaliser from Patrick Bamford ensured a share of the spoils between the two teams.
