Morata was substituted after receiving a booking
Juventus forward Alvaro Morata was told to ‘shut up’ by his manager Massimiliano Allegri during a furious touchline row in the 2-0 win over Genoa.
The Spaniard was aggrieved that he had been penalised for a handball in the 72nd minute, leading him to shout some choice words in the direction of the referee and Genoa defender Davide Biraschi.
He was booked for his reaction and was immediately called over to the bench by Allegri, who substituted him in place of Moise Kean.
The former Chelsea striker – who has scored just once in his last 11 Serie A games – erupted when his manager tried to embrace him, with the pair then arguing with each other before Morata was sent to the bench.
Microphones situated at pitch side inside the Allianz stadium caught Allegri saying to Morata: “You gave away a foul, you have to shut up!”
Morata was angry with the Italian’s comments, responding: “What have I done?!”

Ironically, the Spaniard’s replacement, Kean, received a booking himself less than a minute after entering the game for a foul on Biraschi.
Allegri, who was re-appointed as Juventus manager in May, publicly defended the frontman in the media, dismissing the seriousness of their touchline argument.
“I had not decided to replace him but he got booked and I preferred to take him off,” Allegri said following the 2-0 victory.
“It was nothing and I am sorry, because Alvaro played a great game, even without scoring.”
Juventus secured the win thanks to goals from Juan Cuadrado – who scored directly from a corner – and Paulo Dybala, which moved Allegri’s side to fifth in the table, seven points off the top four.
