Brendan Rodgers is favourite to rejoin Swansea while Man United legends are outsiders

10/11

Betting on Brendan Rodgers to retake the Liberty Stadium hot-seat won’t make you a lot of money but it’s probably the safest bet.

Rodgers has dropped to 10/11 to fill the gap left by Garry Monk after being sacked by Swansea on Wednesday afternoon.

Rodgers was the man who guided the Swans to their first season in the Premier League, becoming the first Welsh team to do so, and spent two seasons with the club.

His stock may have dropped after being let go by Liverpool earlier this season but bookmakers certainly fancy Rodgers to return to the Liberty before Christmas.

Rumours circulated on Wednesday evening, mainly via The Secret Footballer, that Rodgers’ agent had been spotted at the club but the manager has claimed in the past not to have an agent so who knows what’s true?

The closest candidate to Rodgers is former Everton, Manchester United and Real Sociedad boss David Moyes while Gus Poyet and Mark Warburton are also in the running.

The latest odds have unexpected names like Peter Schmeichel and Jaap Stam as rank outsiders at 33/1 and 25/1 respectively with managers such as Tim Sherwood, Roberto di Matteo and Dennis Bergkamp also in the mix.
