Boxer Josh Taylor has criticised Nicola Sturgeon on social media in an explosive outburst by calling Scotland a ‘fascist state under her SNP’.
The 31-year-old Scot – who currently holds four belts and is the world’s undisputed light-welterweight champion – retweeted a video posted by GB News journalist Dan Wootton.
In the video, police officers can be seen removing patrons from a pub that is shut, with customers adamant that the pub was actually still open.
Wootton criticised the First Minister with his caption on the video, writing: “Sturgeon is criminalising people having a good time.
“Scots must stand up to this Covid hysteria before she divides society for good.”

Taylor – who has promoted ‘anti-vax’ views on his social media accounts in recent months – shared Wootton’s tweet as he made an extraordinary allegation in a now-deleted post.
“Fascist state scotland under sturgeons SNP,” he wrote, as per The Herald.
“What a terrible state of affairs.”
Taylor has held the WBA (Super), IBF, and Ring magazine titles since 2019, as well as the WBC and WBO titles after defeating José Ramírez in May 2021.
He became the second Scotsman to become an undisputed champion and the first Brit to do so in the four-belt era with his win over Ramírez.
The 31-year-old boasts a professional record of 18-0, which includes 13 wins via knockout.
In his amateur career, he won a goal medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games after defeating Junias Jonas of Namibia in the final of the light-welterweight tournament.
